Formed by two of the South West’s finest bluesmen, Mark Cole and Rick Edwards, Sons of the Delta deliver a no-nonsense blend of electric and acoustic blues, combining traditional blues and original material with occasional excursions into gospel, hillbilly, bluegrass, Cajun and Tex-Mex.
Their Mississippi credentials are the real deal.
The band have performed at clubs and juke joints in Clarksdale - including Morgan Freeman’s famous Ground Zero Blues Club - and recorded their critically acclaimed album Made in Mississippi at Delta Recording Studios.
During those recording sessions, they were joined by legendary blues musicians Sam Carr and Pinetop Perkins, alongside Eric ‘Bassfingers’ Lanier and Jeff Hayes.
They have also appeared at major American blues festivals, including the prestigious Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival and Clarksdale’s renowned Juke Joint Festival.
Their acclaimed album 'Tasty Nuggets' was named the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association’s Album of the Month, while their live acoustic album Red Hot at Peppers also received rave reviews.
The full band features Mark Cole on vocals, harmonica, guitar and mandolin; Rick Edwards on guitar and vocals; Lyndon Webb on bass; and Martin Fitzgibbon on drums.
Opening the evening will be our own Blue Moon, bringing their infectious mix of blues, soul and rock to get the music flowing and the room warmed up.
Expect a cracking night of powerful vocals, superb harmonica, driving rhythms and seriously impressive deep-South guitar—all delivered by musicians who don’t just play the blues, but truly feel it.
